Earth Day Every Day
The really smart thing for us to have done on Earth Day (cover story, May/June 1995) would have been nothing! To have done no thing that used any resources whatsoever – the reprocussions would have been enormous. This idea got lost in all the planning and the hype: All Mother Earth really needs is a “Day Off.” For just one day, we could have departed from the religion and rituals of materialism, stopped worshipping at the altar of the TV and been with nature.
