Eye in the sky
The combination of the CIA and the environmentalists does not mean much for environmental preservation (Cover Story, January/February 1995). The CIA will always serve military and intelligencepurposes before environmental ones. Any hint of brewing world events is enough for the CIA to pull off their environmental resources and pool them into intelligence efforts. Satellite imagery of deforestation does not stop illegal logging. Atmospheric measurements do not stop harmful chemicals from polluting the air. We do not need more data to know there is something wrong with the environment.
