This App Gives You the Rich Feeling of Being There
Get acquainted with U.S National Parks through National Geographic’s free, award-winning National Parks App for the iPhone. Upon opening the app, you can choose from one of two navigation options: “Parks”, which immediately captures you through stunning, HD-quality photos accompanying each individual National Park selection, or “Map”, which pins your specific location along with all the National Parks on a full map of the U.S.

All of the pictures in the “Parks” tab are incredibly beautiful, so your first selection may just have to be randomly chosen with a simple touch (I picked Mount Rainier in Washington). Mount Rainier’s photo, a majestic display of beautiful foothills covered in abundant wildflowers, expanded upon my selection and two more photos of the park become available for me to glide through. In a small side box, the current weather at that park was displayed along with stats like park size, local time and annual visitors. I scrolled down a bit to find more detailed “Park Info” like contact information, entrance fees and pet regulations. I also came across “Camping and Lodging” options, which conveniently listed and mapped nearby campgrounds, as well as a link to the park’s official Twitter feed for the absolute latest on news and events.
