I would think that the glossy paper used by most magazines

It’s no secret that glossy coatings on magazine covers make pictures really “pop” and attract the eye, thus helping publications compete for attention on ever more crowded newsstands.

COMMENTARY: Catalog Chaos

A recently developed project called Catalog Choice intends to put a cap on the amount of junk in our mailboxes. Just in time for the holidays!

Turning the Chips Around

Computer maker IBM has found a way to save money, reduce waste, and contribute to the development of the solar power industry with just one smart innovation—recycling defective semiconductor chips and sending the recovered refined silicon to manufacturers of photovoltaic solar cells.

Toys for Thought

While it’s not possible for parents to completely tune out the directives to buy, buy, buy, they can make their purchases from companies that share their values. We’ve discovered several worthy sites online.
