Querido DiálogoEcológico: Mi marido y yo queremos comenzar un jardín este año. Quiero realmente hacer abonos de pedacitos sobrantes de comida y materias encontradas en el patio. El dice que atraerá animales indeseables, y rehusa aceptar la idea. ¿Tiene él la razón? ¿Si ese es el caso, ¿cómo manejamos este asunto en una manera ecológica y no letal para los animales?
Querido DiálogoEcológico: ¿Qué sucede con los aparatos electrodomésticos más grandes retirados cuándo los nuevos toman su lugar? Tenemos un lavaplatos y un refrigerador que están en las ultimas ahora y pueden necesitar reemplazo. Yo más bien los trataría de arreglar en vez de comprar nuevos, aunque fuese más caro hacerlo, porque no quiero agregar estos cacharros grandes a la corriente de desechos. ¿Qué opinan Uds. acerca de esto?

Dear EarthTalk: What happens to major appliances that get carted off when new ones take their place? We have a dishwasher and a refrigerator that are both on the blink now and may need replacement. I’d rather fix them than buy new, even if it’s more expensive to do so, because I don’t want to add these big clunkers to the waste stream. What’s your take on this?
